I'm north of 40. This means I was here to see the final years of the Cold War, Desert Storm, Bosnia, 9/11, and so many, many other things that people before feared marked the End Times. Instead of worrying about what might be, we need to worry about the here and now, the things we can control and anticipate.

Christians also need to be very careful about doomsday predictions. No one took Harold Camping seriously after he crashed and burned. Even the most zealous believer will start to question things if you predict the end of the world 44 times.

Oh, maybe, but I doubt it. Absolutely zero things on your list are unique. They have all happened before, some of it has always been happening somewhere. And it'll all happen again. I mean, we can hope, right? But I'm not going to hope so much that I stop adding to my 401K.

  5. Absolutely I agree 100 percent ! We are broken people Heavenly Father can use Broken people to fulfill his will that’s why we needed the atonement of Jesus Christ because of the fall of Adam and Eve when God completes his work with us we are beautiful diamonds that were in the rough thanks for a great word !

  6. Your comments about a broken heart made me think of Enoch's experience where he witnesses God crying and it confuses him. How can the God over the universe be overly concerned because a few (relatively speaking) of His children rebel? The Lord then explains the source of His great grief and helps Enoch see as He sees. We then read: Moses 7:41 And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto Enoch, and told Enoch all the doings of the children of men; wherefore Enoch knew, and looked upon their wickedness, and their misery, and wept and stretched forth his arms, and his heart swelled wide as eternity ; and his bowels yearned; and all eternity shook. This to me is the exact opposite of a hardened heart. A heart so soft and pliable that there is no limit on it's ability to feel compassion and love, as much for the one as the masses. Enoch and his people were taken up. I have to believe that the condition of their hearts was a controlling factor in that process.

The twin and I were very active. We rode our bikes past the Jr High and saw some vaulters. We knew immediately we had to do it. Dad ran track when he was in school and supported us. I went to state 3 years in a row in Texas HS and got to go to university on a full ride. Converted to the Decathlon in College. Fun times.

  12. I sometimes wish ancient languages didn't have pronouns and just repeated names. Here's my interpretation of verse 26's pronouns (which may be utterly irrelevant): 26 And may the grace of God the Father, whose throne is high in the heavens, and our Lord Jesus Christ, who sitteth on the right hand of his God the Father's power, until all things shall become subject unto him Jesus Christ, be, and abide with you forever. Amen. The immortality of man is brought to pass as a gift through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, so clearly there is no conflict here. One can be subject to Christ and immortal at the same time. No problem. Eternal life is exaltation, living in the presence of God, living as God lives, inheriting all that God has. While it may seem contradictory that the way to accomplish all that is to become subject to Christ, I think it's fairly obvious why that's the only way. Being "subject" to Christ is being lifted by Him, not oppressed by Him. It is being led, encouraged, taught, forgiven, and perfected by Him. It is being made one with Him. God's thoughts and ways are different from man's (quite possibly always the reverse of man's) and thus, God's subjection, rather than oppression or limitation, is exaltation.
