  1. Snow?!?!?!? Oh no that means we'll get it soon. Did we even have a summer this year?
  2. I didn't post much about it, Wingnut. I tried hard to not talk about it all the time, and I guess I went overboard in the other direction lol. I did mention it in a few baby threads Thank you all for the congrats! I am very happy with both my daughters
  3. It really was a good plan. I would keep working driving a forklift last this week and next week (easy job, no walking), take a week vacation while my short-term disability kicked in for maternity leave, and then have my daughter on/about the week of Sept. 23rd. It was an excellent plan. My days off last week and the weekend were to get last minute baby items and clean the house, all that stuff. However.... Gwendolyn Marie Meadows decided she wanted to be born August 25th, 2010. Showing the same stubborn nature as her various aunts and her sister she completely ignored the drugs used to stop contractions. She's so cute, even if she's a little orange. We had to take her back to the hospital Sat. for a 24 hr baking under the bili lights but now she's home, mom's home, and everyone is just plain relieved. Just wanted everyone to know. I love this site and the people on it, btw. I really missed not being able to log on for the week!
  4. I can't wait to test the info from this article on my baby, thanks for finding it!
  5. I love when the prophets have birthdays. For me it makes the Restored Gospel that much more real. We have prophets who are still alive Happy Birthday, President Monson!
  6. I agree about WIC, it is one of the best programs out there. Not only do they supplement formula and other baby food (not to mention nursing mom food) but they also have lactation specialists who can help if you need a little advice. It's there, you pay taxes to support it, might as well make use of it if you qualify
  7. Note to self - stop reading the comment sections
  8. Thank you! LOL maybe you'll see some of my family, they're going back in a little bit
  9. I would have loved to see the spire be as high as the original building, but that's cause I'm petty sometimes It's gonna be beautiful.
  10. I think it's a great idea. Hopefully more teams will go independent. That's really the only way to break the BCS' back.
  11. Imagine the climate changes if a few mountains were moved a bit, a few rivers parted...some whirlwinds and earthquakes in diverse places
  12. ldsblack.org doesn't work. are you sure it's the right address?
  13. Personal experience, my daughter was going through puberty at age 9, but after a few months seemed to go back to being 9, and then started up again at 11. A lot of the girls at her school seem to have the same start/stop stuff going on, too. Maybe the dairies started using a different hormone
  14. LDS Church News - Doors to open for first Mormon temple in former USSR I forgot all about this one, not surprising since it was announced all the way back in 1998 For those of us old enough to remember what it was like in the 70s and 80s, did you ever think there would be a temple in the old USSR?
  15. Tomorrow will bring pizza, with a chance of tuna casserole.
  16. My daughter and I love shows like Bridezillas and 'I Didn't Know I was Pregnant' (I think that's the name). The ones with the 'world's worst' drivers/criminals etc. is also good Iron Chef is amazingly tense and exciting for a cooking show lol.
  17. I forgot all about yahoo and other places like that. My husband likes reading AOL news. What I like about them is they kind've point you in the right direction if you want to delve deeper into a story. There are some biases shown with certain hot topics like immigration and gay marriage, but if you keep alert for the slant you can still get the news. My favorite news aggregator is sometimes a bit earthy so I won't link it, but the links are submitted by a huge variety of people who have about every opinion along the political spectrum. You just have to hunt a bit to find the balance you need
  18. Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. ~Plato
  19. Do ratings really make a difference in the truthiness of the news on display? Or do ratings mean 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it?'
  20. IDK, seems to me you come in as a family and find your seats. If you don't get there in time to get the 2nd pew in front then you try harder next time. Wouldn't it be easier and faster if both parents rounded up the kidlings? In my old ward, it wasn't uncommon to find over half the pews covered in books a full 20 minutes before Sacrament meeting even started.
  21. -I really hate the whole saved seats thing. I'm assuming this is a big problem with wards that have Sacrament meeting after the other classes. Thankfully my ward has S.M. right off the bat. To be honest, I don't think the people who do this really care about scaring off others. They just comfort themselves with the knowledge that those who leave because of this didn't really believe, anyways My old ward was really bad about saving seats. That's where I got into my habit of sitting on the comfy couches in the foyer.
  22. So..what happened????
  23. Congrats on your baby, how exciting! I know how much fun it is to look at all the stuff in the stores. I had to show a lot of restraint in the early days with my latest. My husband and I spent the first few months (after we got over the shock ) deciding what was necessary and what we were gonna hope family would buy lol. Now that Gwendolyn is 33 weeks old we've gotten a bit more serious about shopping for big things. Garage sales and thrift stores are great for baby clothes. Wal-Mart also has a lot of clearance baby clothes right now. Given that your little one is due in January I'd hold off a while on buying a lot, especially until you know the gender (assuming you and your husband want to know. I couldn't take the suspense). As far as big items, unless you have a lot of room I'd hold off til the 7th or 8th month. No point in setting things up only to be dusting them for 5 months
  24. Cosplay is good. Then you can have a humungous gun and not have to worry about killing someone, but you can still use it to bean the bad guys. And if you really want to you can do it wearing cat ears *^.^*~
  25. Bummer! I hope you have money saved
