  1. PC thank you for the update.
  2. They are going the wrong way on purpose. Addtionally: there is one place I've seen a roundabout that it made sense. Its in Pleasant View, Utah. On Elberta where one road enters at an angle. That makes sense. Yet, people still go the wrong way. When they first put it in it happened a lot. Now its only occasionally that I'll see someone go the wrong way. The one by my son's place is useless. It replaced a straight forward three way stop. Now, people run through it so fast its dangerous and to slow people down they put in speeds bumps from Hades. A stop sign worked better. Sigh.... I don't get angry but I do get tired.
  3. I detest roundabouts. They are a waste of gas and tires. I much prefer a 4-way stop or even a 5-way stop. I've seen more accidents in roundabouts because there is always somebody going the wrong way to cut the corner.
  4. yes preteens generally mope and pout. The child who was the worst for us was our daughter.
  5. I guess that means its not "real"?
  6. What are receptions for? They are suppose to be a place where friends and family can come together and congratulate the new couple. What they have become is something else. We used the cultural hall for a family dinner. My VT and a couple of other ladies from the ward helped prepare the food and set up the buffet. I appreciate they're help so much! Even three years later I say thank you. I couldn't have done it all on my own. But... I got some attitude from others in our ward who expected a big reception. One sister insisted on hosting a bridal shower and the invitation said "In Lieu of a Reception, the ward is giving a shower." What? It still bites a bit when I think about it. I love my ward but when it comes to weddings there are a few who have expectations that overshadowed some of the good things.
  7. No... although I'm sure some might think they have to. My ward as a whole (well the majority) don't judge about such things. The closed store is the small market 6 miles from my house. There's a Maverick Country Store across the road. If we leave the valley for anything we have to drive to Ogden. Ward boundaries in Utah are quite close. So... maybe you would drive out of your ward boundaries to go to the store just because often the Stake Boundaries are the size of a Ward outside Utah.
  8. I actually like it. :) I was surprised that I liked it. :)
  9. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Edit: I'm so sad. His books were fantastic. He will be missed. He was only 66.
  10. AT&T and I had an HTC Titan until it got wet. This is the first phone in 15 years that I've dropped in water. I never thought I could mourn for a phone. LOL Still AT&T with a Go Phone.
  11. I just learned that my neighbor new their family before her parents divorced. Its a small world.
  12. Leah. Put your name on the prayer roll at the temple. Call your home teachers and ask for a blessing. Pray for comfort. And then try to place all this in the hand's of the Lord. I didn't think union members could be fired for one infraction. I thought there had to be warnings.
  13. Yes. Its possible for our spiritual well being or lack thereof to affect our physical well being.
  14. Heritage Park. See my post above
  15. Safe Haven. Surprisingly good. Julianne Hough was good in this movie. Good story and leaves you feeling good (even though I had tears at the end.)
  16. If possible go to This is the Place Heritage Park. Its not only fun but very educational about how the pioneers lived. It takes a block of time to get through it all. This Is The Place Heritage Park
  17. Yes, on any gain.
  18. The porn is not about you. Do not blame yourself. It is selfish on his part and its hurtful for you.
  19. I recently re-read Michael Crichton's State of Fear. The best part of the book is the authors comments. :) I like the story. Its engaging but the research the author did before writing the book and his conclusions about global warming got my attention. I've always like Michael Crichton's books and this was not exception. After reading some of the references he gives I came to the same conclusions he did.
  20. Come back and let us know how it goes.
  21. Congratulations!
  22. The leaders of the church will never force anyone to join.
  23. We pay our tithing as soon as we get home from depositing money in the bank. Or as soon as something an electronic deposit becomes available. Its easy to spend the money if you wait.
  24. It is quite common. Its also common for leaders of other churches to meet with either the Prophet or an Apostle.
  25. now I need a photobucket account?
