  1. Pick a country, any country. Just not one that is considered tyrannical, and you'll likely end up with a similar example. Lot's of political parties in most countries.
  2. You should vote for someone, even if that someone is someone that isn't going to win. I think that is the best solution to voter frustration. Direction from God is also a good solution.
  3. Sorry, I should have provided the context to why I said that. I know people who don't "gamble" (their words, not mine), but play Bunco with a pay in, and prizes (Based on winning).
  4. I don't have a problem with it, if you enter into it with the realization that it is a fund raiser, with no expectation on returns. I don't have a problem with gambling type games either. Just don't play them with money, no money or collateral refutes the definition of to gamble. Apparently bunco is a popular game some members play. Though small sums of money are used... :/
  5. The prospects politically seem very poor indeed.
  6. My family is stock full of teachers. Aunts and Uncles, and my own Father. Some teaching in other countries. It happens to be a family favorite topic for some reason Over the many many years, you learn a lot. On average home schooling might turn out better, with the right well educated rigorous parents. You have to realize the bias in gathering data on home schooling versus public school. Was it controlled for income, parental care, parental involvement, parental education, child nutrition? These same types of parents will likely encourage and guide their children to success even in a subpar teaching condition. A condition that can be found in some public schools, while other schools are excellent. You have to remember that an average is a mid point, half are above, half are below this point. There are plenty examples of well meaning parents who utterly fail to give their children a good education in homeschool.
  7. I've seen both terribly schooled home schooled kids, and really excellent ones as well. Sometimes even from the same family. Same is true for public school. Though I do have a few suggestions to optimize the public schooling system (mainly science based suggestions too). Not that it will happen. (Common core can be a step in the right direction, if implemented well)
  8. Idk, i've had some pretty bad, hammer on head pounding pain migraine headaches (light sensitivity etc...)...that had me disabled for a couple days. Though when I was in school parents could also tell that I couldn't function...
  9. I'd have never made it through elementary school without recess. You can talk to any of my teachers, including sunday school and youth leaders.
  10. The second coming will occur. (I don't actually think this will happen in 2016, but you never know)
  11. Anything that has state, is information. The direction a mass is moving etc conveys information. Same with energy, the frequency, amplitude... It's like saying two sides of an equation have to remain equal.
  12. Cast Iron is simply the best. {Pans} It might not be "non-stick" but most "non-stick" pans have specific cooking instructions that if aren't followed will create "stick' anyways. (And if you cook right on cast iron same thing applies) Pots are a different story though. Some have strange cooking profiles, the way they heat food, because of their shape or composition.
  13. In my perspective a lot of you are spoiled rotten! (Or spoiling your kids!) Which is/can be a good thing.
  14. Apple has a screenshot tool too Press Command-Shift-4
  15. Online accredited degrees are still not valued as highly as in campus degrees, though things are quickly changing. The big kaveat on online degrees is that a lot of people find it more of a struggle to effectively schedule their time, and use effective online communication. You will probably have no problem with that though. If you plan on moving up, or changing jobs getting Montessori(Had to look that up) might be the better choice. Otherwise if it's just for continuing education while on job, and it's something you enjoy it makes sense to go with the convenient choice that you would enjoy.
  16. You could always use an online roller, and take a screenshot. Type in your start menu snip, it comes with windows. (I'm assuming windows here)
  17. I was going to ask that as well. Is Ironhold going to be the game master? Dice rolls controlled by the DM? Trust system?
  18. Along those line I would just like to say HEROSYSTEM IS BETTER. Version 5 extended edition of course.
  19. Feeling down because you have been disfellowed I imagine would be normal. The pain, hate, hurt, distrust from what someone has done, and what the consequences are, is also normal. If it's something that has been going on for a long time, then the shame, and guilt can also contribute to the fifteen years of being down. It could also be related to depression. For the spiritual healing all you can really do is invite him to the healing power of Jesus Christ, and the best way is often through your own example. For the depression, while I firmly believe spiritual healing can help, it's also best to seek psychological help through a trained doctor, or counselor.
  20. (In american political terms because left and right wing are reversed) European liberals are similar to, but very different from American Democrats, even though the reporting from Europe seems to extol that political party's virtue(what they consider virtue at least). It works vice versa too, with American liberals projecting onto the European one's. It's a bit interesting actually. Europe does seem to have a more accurate view overall of everything that is going on in the United states than the United states seems to have of what is going on in Europe. At least in Denmark there are strong feelings of disgust and contention on either side of the political divide between all 8 major party contenders about immigration, and refugees. This was still an issue maybe 10 years ago and it just seems to be amplifying over time. It's definitely a point of major disagreement. As a side note there was/is also a general sentiment that United State should intervene with the Russia and Ukraine conflict.
  21. If true, those who are born lowly were given the highest gift.
  22. That's interesting, while my family actively schedules events to avoid conflicts with church callings, the excuse "I will be with family" is an appropriate response for not being at part of Sunday events in the local ward. (Not one day vacations, or I don't want to go to Sunday type events if that makes any sense.) I think it would be appropriate to find someone to sub, rather than cut it short. Though time set aside to ponder, pray, and silently read scriptures could be very appropriate.
  23. Only if it is done in a culture that values life. It seems to me that people are moving farther and farther away from valuing life in general, or even other people.
  24. The data that i've reviewed in the past has suggested that the numbers are nearly equal between the genders. There is significant bias problems in the stat collection (such as gang rapes being counted as 1 versus many, counting male sexual assault as something other than rape or not at all, rejection of rape charges of women [because she must be lying, even the accusation is true], victim blaming happening to both genders, under reporting and much much more) I haven't considered what the false reporting might generate for the margin of error. So when I feel I have time, I'll have to look into it. My personal conclusion on this is that people tend to polarize by gender, feel rejected, and fight among each other as a result. Rather than rallying together, each side whether they realize it or not introduce ideas, laws, and a culture which rather than helping stop the problem end up contributing to the problem.
