It is my experience that with full repentance and forgiveness, embarrassment disappears along with the guilt.
How often have we heard stories of someone who has overcome a weakness and admired that person's determination and humility?  If you have become the kind of person who is constantly repenting and improving, there will be no embarrassment and no shame.
No offense to JAG, but I have a much better Advocate.
 

I'm planning on hiring JAG when the time comes. if he's as good as I think he is, I'll be able to do what I like in this life, and then just leave it to my lawyer to sort out on judgement day.

Listened to stake conference broadcast from Bro Ballard. Very inspired. He was full of praise and also had some advice. Be cautious about information which does not reflect church teachings that is taught in classes. Get spiritual nourishment daily eg read scriptures. Speak kindly to family members. Avoid pornography and other unsuitable media. Good talk!

Absolutely we should worry.  I have carefully and scientifically studied the art of worrying and have proven that close to 97% of all the worrying that is done never happens.  What could be more effective???  For example I worry every day that the sun will stop burning - and it never has yet.  I worry all the time about the universe clasping into Black Holes.  People should thank me for all the worrying I do that so greatly benefits them.

"Life expectancy" is not a useful measure unless you attach an age. The assumed age is "birth", so, while a neonate could expect to live 40 years in the i, his father, presumably at least 15, would have an LE of at least 60, and his living grandfather, aged, say 45, would have an LE of 70 or so.
All life expectancy tell us is that half of the people alive at a given age will be dead at another age in the future. Since half or more of all children died before age 5 until about the mid XIX, the LE at birth was necessarily low. but when someone lived to age, say, 20, his LE wouldn't be a whole lot different for a twenty-year-old today.

Thank you all so much! You have all dished out a lot of brilliant advice. I'm not so anxious now as I was before, and that's all thanks to the wonderful people who have contributed their thoughts, ideas, and opinions to this thread. I've got the beginnings of a game plan, and I'm going to work hard for the next few weeks and weeks following to be more confident in myself and to not use the media's standards to measure my worth. It was unfair of me to assume that he expects perfection simply because he was blessed with dashing good looks. I know that he isn't superficial or vain. 
I realized today that we became close in the first place because each of us was being our real selves. So that's how I'm going about this. I'm going to be who I've always been. (Except probably a little more mature, because I was 17 when we met and college changes a person.) 
If things go the way I hope they will, great. If not, things may change once he's settled back into his life. If they never do, it's not like there aren't thousands of single men who go to school with me. I'll get over it after a while.

Somebody the other day said, "A cat could run for president and win, this year!" I quipped, "I'd vote for the cat!"  In the last three days I've mentioned this I think I've gotten enough affirmations to win 5 or 6 electoral college votes. :-)

For those that don't know, the Power Rangers franchise is still a thing.
The current season has actor Yoshi Sudarso as the Blue Ranger.
This past weekend was the annual official fan convention for the franchise. A big highlight event involved the current cast members coming up on stage and announcing the cast members for the next season. 
Yoshi's successor as Blue Ranger? His brother Peter. None of the current cast members were told the identities before the official announcements, meaning that the whole thing was set up to surprise Yoshi with the news that his brother had made it in as well. 
 
 
(Given that Yoshi's character spent generations in suspended animation, and that Yoshi and Peter bear a strong family resemblance, I'm already seeing fans of the franchise asking about the prospect of the show having Peter's character be officially declared a descendant of Yoshi's character in order to have a family relationship in the show as well.)

I'm tall, good looking, and humble. I'm breathing on my own. How can I complain?

If my workplace asks me to lead the prayer, then obviously they have no problem with Mormon prayers.  If they ask me to lead the prayer and then tell me I can't pray in the name of Christ, then I'll have to decline.  If nobody asked me to lead the prayer and I just go out on the middle of the workplace and start leading them in prayer, I expect them to kick me out... or even fire me.
 
I am not uncomfortable with a Muslim leading a prayer in a public setting and praying to his God.  I have no problem with Jews doing the same.  I have no problem with any other faith leading a prayer in their own faith.  Now, I would, of course, question the stupidity of a group of people asking a Muslim to lead the prayer when said Muslim wants to defeat Christians in their midst.
 
That said... I live this everyday.  I am the only Mormon in a whole slew of devout Catholics.  My sons and I get asked to offer prayer for meals and such at family get togethers and even big parties.  We don't pray off the Catholic prayer book.  We pray as exemplified by the modern prophets.  Everybody knows we're Mormon.  The host asks us to lead them in prayer.  They don't expect us to ditch our being Mormons just because we are standing in a sea of Catholics.
