How many of us can truly say that we live this directive in our daily acts. "the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye also do; for that which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do"
I know I can do better, much better. I know when I swear at another driver for cutting me off, and lay on the horn, that I am not doing this. I have a temper and I know that it does not help to do this. I remember one day I had just come from the temple and this happened to me, but I was thinking about Jesus and instead of getting mad, I just said to my wife, "Man, he must be in a hurry, I hope they are able to make it there in time." I felt a calming influence from the Spirit, because I was paying attention to Him.

I watched that clip last night.  Best part was when he looked up over his glasses and said, "duh."

So, my claws don't grow anymore, but I still enjoy scratching stuff up.  Yesterday, I sat next to the couch as my junior companion was ministering to a family in need.  The couch needed some holes.  I think I improved it.
My hair doesn't grow anymore.  But I've got to keep up my grooming.  Why?  Because I like it.
Why doesn't he carry keys around anymore?  I want shiny stuff.  I haven't seen anything shiny in years -- unless you count my jr companion.  But that's only when we leave this green ball. Where is that tree with the white fruit anyway.  I want to munch some fruit so I can cough it back up again -- obligate carnivore that I am.
Good thing lizards are still on this green ball.  I can leave it on the doorstep, if he had one.  And mice? Weren't they food once? Now they're my friends?
Alfred!  Ambrosia, please.  Place it next to my lounging pillow, please.  Thank you so much.  You're a dear.

Eventful day today. Master carried the metal plates across the state. I cleared his path of squirrels, doing my part to carry the work forward. It is hard but rewarding; Master pets me several times per day, for which he is gratefully thanked with my slobber. Mutually rewarding doggy symbiosis.
It's been pretty cool these last fifteen hundred or so years--no fleas! Not once! That's not the whole story, though. It must be said that every night for the last 600 years, Master feeds me a bowl of dog food. Nothing but dog food for the last six centuries! Can you believe it? He sure loves me!
Now someone write the cat version.

Yeah, write the book.  Make sure that Cain and his hell hound are also involved.  I’ll read it.

Very interesting. I had never heard of that incident in 1969.
I just downloaded this book and look forward to reading it.

I was looking at my dog the other day and thinking how he is getting old and will be gone soon. I then was thinking about the three disciples from the book of Mormon and John the beloved. I am not sure how they deal with the lack of connections as they outlive each of their friends and relatives. What if they had a canine companion that was given to them that was also translated? That is the basis of the idea, an immortal dog that would remain as their faithful companion. I am reminded of the Nephite that Joseph and the others ran into on the road to Harmony that was carrying the first set of plates back to Cumorah and that delivered the small plates of Nephi to Joseph in Harmony.

While enjoying the cool weather and some rain in Utah the other day, I was thinking of this very subject. I feel like the Lord is warning us that if we do not repent then this season of rain could be our last. I am reminded of this phrase in Isaiah 9:12 - "For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still."
We need to do better and humble ourselves.

My wife and kids got me this book for Fathers Day, and it got me thinking. Have we lost the intellectual aspect of gospel knowledge in recent years? I remember when Hugh Nibley and other scholars writings were often published in church publications. In recent years, I cannot recall very much if this in our magazines. Have we lost something in our day and should we try to return to them? In fact, I recently learned that Nibley’s “An Approach to the Book of Mormon,” was the priesthood manual for the year 1957. Now we just read and discuss general conference talks, or rather, try to skim through the talk during the opening announcements in priesthood and hope we are not called on to say anything.
I believe by studying books like this we can awaken a deeper sense of testimony as we read while praying and listening for spiritual insight. Let’s do better as Men, who have followed in Abraham’s footsteps.

If they really cared about emissions they would build an engine that can burn hydrogen, not a fuel cell, actual burning. Cummings may have just created one, but we shall see. Batteries cause more environmental damage than they are worth, both in the creation and disposing of lithium. I personally think their is not a solution in any available technology. Some level of pollution is going to be part of our lives for the time being.
