We aren't even allowed to give our location any more. We can only say we are on the west coast of the US if asked. There was an employee of one of our call centers murdered by a disgruntled caller.

Well, for the group of customers that I handle, we especially want them to know that they are not being routed out of the country. I even have special numbers for U.S. based tech support and fraud, even tho we also have reps in several other countries for those depts, not just India. I try to keep the calls onshore whenever possible.

Ho, hum. I'm sitting here bored out of my skull and just wondering what we all do here. So here goes.

Currently, I work as a Medical Biller specializing in Physical Therapy clinics. It's my ex's business and she has found it in her merciful self to employ me seeing as the economy took my job away in 2007 as a Systems Admin in a Physical Therapy clinic. So I sit here waiting for her to send me my work (when she gets it). And yes, I work out of my apartment (My bed is two feet to my left. :) ).

Anyone else like to share?

Babysitting computers and college students :P

I teach reading, language and math in elementary school. I'm also my school's parent involvement coordinator and the on-call interpreter. It's a busy gig, but I like it!

General classroom teacher or specifically those subjects? I was always confident teaching reading, but I so so appreciated those who specifically knew elementary math! Our math specialist was great!

What do you interpret?

Chief whipping boy and kicking post. I've got calluses on my behind from getting kicked when I least expect it.

Let's just say that I hate my job, hate my company. But it pays the bills, so I have to be somewhat grateful, right??

Backroads, I teach those subjects specifically; I'm not funded to teach science or social studies. I loooove elementary math. I hated math when I was a kid; I didn't get it at all. I work really hard to reach kids of all thinking styles so that math makes sense to them.

Wing, I interpret Spanish. About 100 languages are spoken within our district. My city is a refugee resettlement city, which makes things interesting!

Elementary math is the best! I didn't like math until I took six credits of math theory for my major. With all the theory and teaching methods, I sort of fell in love with it. I really like the Singapore approach--really bites that my contract wasn't renewed when we were just bringing that into the district.

I'm a professor, teaching the future librarians of America, although I am not a librarian myself. In professional schools, there is often a split between what you teach and what you research. So, I teach management-related and policy courses, but my research is in knowledge management, design of information systems (technical and human) used in the workplace, and information behaviors at work. This is a 2nd career for me and I love it a lot more than practicing law.

My job is simple. I do everything needed to take wonderfully healthy potatoes and make them into wonderfully unhealthy french fries. You're welcome *^.^*

My school doesn't use Singapore, but my daughter has been in the curriculum for almost three years now at her school. We really like it, too.

I am a professional bum.

Or also a cherry picker.

Okay, I'm actually still a student, and will be for a bit. I'm a physicist, currently in a Master's program.

But that still means I'm a professional bum and cherry picker.

I am almost a jack of all trades when it comes to mechanical and also, do some occasional end user IT or Telecommunication support.

I knew when I was 20 year old, took my Military ASVAB test and scored 98% mechanical and 86% electrical, I had a pretty good idea what I was going to do for the rest of my life.

I am currently Her Britannic Majesty's Royal Inspector of Gravy.

I have to travel all over the country to inspect catering schools, making sure young chefs are taught the correct combination of stock, cornflour and other ingredients necessary to achieve the consistency and flavour of true gravy.

It's a very important job: I expect one day to get a knighthood.
