Vort Posted August 9, 2022 Report Posted August 9, 2022 That little girl walked almost a full hour to get to the store to buy a loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter. Someone needs to call CPS. The proof: MrShorty and mikbone 2 Quote
Still_Small_Voice Posted August 9, 2022 Report Posted August 9, 2022 If she was in a well stocked latter-day saint household her Mom would have sent the child to the cellar downstairs, got some frozen butter out, grabbed some powdered milk and some wheat from the dried food storage so she could grind it into flour. After grinding the wheat she would have made some home made bread. Backroads, mordorbund, askandanswer and 1 other 1 3 Quote

First and probably last time I ever showed her, or will ever show her, something from Family Guy. Specifically this one: NeuroTypical 1 Quote

Backroads Posted August 10, 2022 Report Posted August 10, 2022 Apparently they did an updated one some years ago that the Free-Range Kids people made a slight bit of fun of, because they made the girl's trip uber-safe and and had Mom warning her to be careful. Vort 1 Quote

Nah - it just means you missed the golden window of "grew up watching this on Sesame Street" by a few years. And not seeing the thing from Family Guy just means you're going to heaven. (I only did because my daughter happened to pick up a copy of the original book in a church rummage sale. It's actually no less cruel and silly than the Family Guy parody!) https://worldhistorycommons.org/der-struwwelpeter-slovenly-peter Edited August 16, 2022 by Jamie123 Quote
Emmanuel Goldstein Posted August 19, 2022 Report Posted August 19, 2022 1972, when a child could actually go outside without the fear of a bunch of sick demented monsters attacking them. Children used to be considered untouchable and society would protect them. How far we have fallen. 😞 Quote
