“Cut not thy hair and no bullet or blade can harm thee."

The words of the prophet he once spoke to Orrin Porter Rockwell when he (Porter) suddenly appeared from his imprisonship in Independence iat Smith's house in Nauvoo on one Christmas Evening.

I haven't cut my fine blonde  hair for many months, and no bullet has harmed me yet... only my girl friend is bullying me. But I won't let my hair cut. She shalt get used to that.

My hair goes to my mid back as well. I guess I'm just obeying the prophet on this issue too. 😃

I've conducted a highly scientific study on this.  I alternate between cutting and not cutting. I've never been cut as I'm getting my hair cut. But many times, I've been cut when I am not getting my hair cut.

Morgan Reese was the only partner that rode as an equal with Porter.  Morgan was my great grandfather.  The covenant Porter made involved a lot more than long hair - I would be very careful in pretending you have and live by the same covenant.  And Porter did cut his hair and it was for a woman - but that is another story.   Something very few know - when Joseph was a young boy (before the 1st vision) Porter was his best friend (though a couple of years younger).  Porter was also present at the organization of the church but never held a leadership calling.  It is likely that outside of his family Joseph first told Porter of his first vision.  I believe Porter was much more spiritual than many give credit and he was unwavering in his support of what-ever any latter-day prophet asked - he did without question.  If you want to be like Porter - it will require a lot more than pride in your long hair.

I have a #3 buzz cut and no bullets or blades have harmed me either.

Open the door and get out; then let's see if your #3 buzz cut is of any worth.  👨‍🌾 👨‍🌾 👩‍🌾 🤠

If this was a movie, the director would say: cut. 🤠

You are right. I know about Porter when he cut his hair for a women. I've read the book "Man of God, Son of Thunder". Yes, he was surely more spiritual than one might believe. And surely it requires more than pride in long hair to be like him.

We had a rottweiler named Roc, named after this guy.

Also: ...

"I never killed anyone who didn't need killing" ... The words of Orrin Porter Rockwell. who assumedly killed more than a hundred, more than even the most dangerous outlaws and gun slingers of the old Wild West did - didn't those words sprang from a deep humanistic and high level moral standpoint of a frontiers man and former US Marshal  in Utah who only served the law and who would never do any harm to a person that wouldn't deserve to get killed?

By the way, NeuroTypical, Rottweilers are awful and dangerous dogs, and be assured I don't like'em, anyway... There is a town and county with the same name in Baden-Württemberg, that once in a time belonged to the Roman Empire, and those dogs sprang from the Romans who once bred them certainly not for the purpose of "Kuscheltiere"...

Well, by several accounts, Porter Rockwell was awful and dangerous too, so the name fit.

Anyway, here are some photos of Roc the Rottweiler being awful and dangerous.

(...)

There was a lady from Niger, who smiled while she rode on a tiger. They came back from the ride, with the lady inside, and the smile on the face of the tiger. 😉

Occasionally, I'll get a bit of razor burn...  perhaps there is something to it.

You're  speaking in mysteries. What in the world is a razor burn...? Will American razors inflame when the accumulators get overload or when they get used too intensively...?

You still need to wash it though. 🤢

Goldstein, once getting baptized, you wouldn't have to wash your hair for years. 👸

When it comes to domesticated animals, the only way a dog is awful and/or dangerous is if some human abuses it and trains it to be violent.  And in that scenario, it's a human's fault and the human deserves the punishment.
