  1. Dump this choking loser...You can obviously do much betterIMHO.
  2. Socialism always has good intentions. See where it leads in every case, so far.
  3. The prophets of the current generation are only infallible when they speak ex cathedra. Those sayings are found in the Doctrine and Covenants.
  4. I had no idea that one could buy a new car for $12.5K as recently as 2015. You are to be congratulated.
  5. Can’t believe three pages about a hypothetical that will never happen.🤡
  6. Jmom Seems like you have a fairly normal marriage with similar problems to most people. I don’t believe, given the circumstances of your situation, that you will find the grass any greener by leaving the marriage. It does no appear unsalvageable. You have a child, and the child’s welfare should be your main focus. For both of you. God would want the child raised in an LDS home as far as possible. And it does seem possible. Your husband has joined the church, so he has/is making some effort. You should meet him halfway. Try going back to counseling
  7. I would never own a car that I could not trust to take me across the US if necessary at a moments notice. If your car will not do this, get rid of it.
  8. She should discontinue the relationship and tell the guy in no uncertain terms (preferably written) to stop the harassment. If he continues his behavior, call the cops or try a restraining order. This would apply to anyone. If she is a minor, she should call the police. Other than that, since this relationship is not work or ecclesiastically related, she should do nothing else. If she really wants to be vindictive, tell the guy's wife.
  9. In my experience so many people fib about tithing it's almost the norm. I do tax returns. I don't do a lot of Mormons, but most of the ones that I do don't do 10%. But that's MY definition. There may be a lot of mitigating circumstances in their lives I know nothing about. Some do over 10%. Of course this is a very super small sample size. Remember the Church is for the sick (sinners). And they killed the last Perfect Man.
  10. Apple invented the Smart phone, and IMHO it's still the best. Security is a little more refined. More Apps are available. Steve Jobs daily weather report is accurate.
  11. You are active by the Church’s own definition. Dont let the naysayers of this forum discourage you. Your activity will increase gradually as you start taking your children to their classes. The very fact that you are trying is enough. The idea that you are becoming unworthy is from Satan. You are making progress , keep the faith.
  12. WOW needs an update. The coffee and tea thing needs to go away. Totally obsolete. There are a lot of recent studies extolling the virtues of coffee and even Consumer Reports expounded on its benefits recently. Tea has also been found to be beneficial Kind of like the reasons for keeping Kosher are no longer valid, we need a new revelation IMNSHO.
  13. It’s a good idea to help your kids. I did not do this sufficiently as I put myself through school with minimal debt. I figured my kids could do the same It was a mistake. The biggest of my life Times have changed, and once the federal government got involved in education costs skyrocketed. So yes. You should do this.
  14. Not a saving ordinance per se, but us sinners find it convenient. 😎
  15. 4. If by mistake you answer one of these calls hang up immediately. These guys don’t deserve any courtesy at all.

    Tattoo

There is nothing in getting a tattoo that keeps you away from full faith and fellowship in the Church. So go for it if you want. I personally am not a fan. The problem as I see it is what does one do at forty???
  17. No matter what, it’s stupid to borrow money to pay tithing. So dont.
  18. After two years, you need to move on if only a temple marriage will do.
  19. Since not all will have the opportunity to marry for eternity in this life, and there may be other opportunities to fulfill one's true vocation, marrying outside the faith is certainly an option to be prayerfully considered.
  20. None of the sins we have repented of will be revealed. So you are quoting this scripture out of context. God has stated that when we repent he "remembers our sins no more". There really is no reason to "confess" anything at all. In fact, OP had no reason to say anything at all about any sexual activity that was repented of.
  21. Avoid North Las Vegas. The East area near the Temple is a good area. Henderson and boulder city are close to LV and there is a lot of housing there.
  22. D&C 9: Advice given to Oliver Cowdery about how to get an answer from the Lord. My bold. 6 Do not murmur, my son, for it is wisdom in me that I have dealt with you after this manner. 7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me. 8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right. 9 But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.
  23. If she has truly repented God does not keep any records of the past sins. My advice to Ray 25 is don't compound your felony. Keep this a secret the rest of your life. You are forgiven in God's eyes and that's all that matters.
